🐾 Breed guide

Pomeranian

The Pomeranian is a tiny ball of fluff with an outsized personality, descended from large sled dogs of the Arctic. Named after the Pomerania region in northern Europe, these dogs were famously favoured by Queen Victoria, who helped popularise the smaller-sized variety we know today. Pomeranians are one of the most popular toy breeds in India, adored for their fox-like face, luxurious double coat, and spirited nature. Despite weighing just a few kilograms, they carry themselves with the confidence of a much larger dog. Poms are incredibly alert and vocal, making them surprisingly effective watchdogs. They are intelligent, eager to learn tricks, and love being the centre of attention. Their fluffy, plumed tail and bright, inquisitive eyes give them an irresistibly adorable appearance. In Indian households, Pomeranians are cherished for their adaptability to apartment living, low exercise needs, and boundless affection for their owners.
