πΎ Breed guide
Greyhound
The Greyhound is the fastest dog breed on earth, capable of reaching speeds up to 72 km/h β yet surprisingly, they are one of the most laid-back and gentle companions you could ever wish for. With a history stretching back over 4,000 years to ancient Egypt, where they were revered and depicted in tomb paintings, Greyhounds are among the oldest known dog breeds. Their sleek, aerodynamic build β deep chest, flexible spine, long legs, and lean muscle β makes them the ultimate sprinting machine. But off the track, Greyhounds are famously known as "45-mph couch potatoes." They love nothing more than lounging on a soft bed or sofa and are surprisingly calm and quiet indoors. Greyhounds are gentle, sensitive, and almost cat-like in their demeanour β clean, quiet, and independent. They are affectionate with their families but not overly demanding. In India, Greyhounds are well-suited to the warm climate thanks to their thin coat and lean build. They make wonderful apartment dogs due to their calm indoor nature, despite their large size.
