πΎ Breed guide
American Bully
The American Bully is a relatively modern breed developed in the 1980s and 1990s in the United States, primarily from the American Pit Bull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier, with influences from other Bulldog-type breeds. Despite their muscular, powerful appearance, American Bullies were specifically bred to be companion dogs with a gentle, stable temperament. They come in four recognised sizes β Pocket, Standard, Classic, and XL β catering to different preferences. American Bullies are known for their stocky, wide-chested build and impressive musculature, but their true defining trait is their sweet, affectionate nature. They are remarkably patient with children and are often called "nanny dogs" for their protective yet gentle demeanour around kids. In India, the American Bully has surged in popularity, admired for its striking looks and calm disposition. They are eager to please, highly social, and thrive on human companionship. With proper socialisation, they get along well with other pets and are incredibly loyal family members.
