Seasonal care for Hyderabad pets
Summer heat, monsoon ticks and the short mild winter — what changes.
⚕️ This is general information for pet parents, not veterinary advice. Schedules and needs vary by pet — always confirm with your veterinarian.
Summer (March–June)
- Walk before 8am or after 6pm — footpath tar can burn paw pads; test it with the back of your hand.
- Heatstroke moves fast: heavy panting, drooling and wobbliness mean shade, cool (not ice-cold) water, wet towels and a vet call.
- Never leave a pet in a parked car, even for minutes.
- Fresh water in every room; brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds and seniors need extra caution.
Monsoon (June–September)
- Tick and flea season peaks — check ears, neck folds and between toes after every walk.
- Dry paws and belly thoroughly after wet walks; damp coats invite fungal skin trouble.
- Keep pets out of puddles and stagnant water — it can carry leptospirosis; ask your vet about the lepto shot.
- Store kibble airtight; humidity spoils it faster.
Winter (November–February)
- Hyderabad winters are mild, but early-morning chill is real for seniors, puppies and short-coated breeds.
- Arthritic pets stiffen up in the cold — a warm bed off the floor helps more than a sweater.
- Skin gets drier; if flaking shows up, ask your groomer or vet about moisturising shampoos.
Grooming is health care too
Clean coat, trimmed nails, checked ears — every Petgully session covers the basics.
